 Buntut Penangguhan Media Lokal, Rusia Blokir 81 Media Uni Eropa

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Rusia memblokir 81 media dari negara Uni Eropa akibat perilaku yang sama dari blok berisi 27 negara tersebut yang memblokir empat media Rusia.

Uni Eropa atau lebih tepatnya Brussels memblokir empat media pemerintah Rusia yang diyakini sebagai media penyebaran propaganda mengenai perang di Ukraina yang disiarkan pada Mei 2024 lalu.  Empat media tersebut adalah Voice of Europe, RIA Novosti, Izvestia, dan Rossiyskaya.

Kementerian Luar Negeri Rusia menyebut bahwa pihaknya memblokir akses ke 81 media yang secara terstruktur menyebarkan informasi palsu tentang perkembangan invasi Rusia di Ukraina. Diantaranya adalah Politico, Le Monde, dan Der Spiegel.

Adapun beberapa media Italia juga turut dibatasi aksesnya oleh Rusia. Diantaranya adalah La Repubblica dan Penyiaran Publik Rai. Kementerian Luar Negeri Italia menyebut aksi Rusia yang membatasi akses media “tidak akan menghapuskan efek dari kekerasan dalam perang yang menghancurkan dan ilegal”.

Pihak Rusia akan mempertimbangkan untuk membuka kembali akses penuh terhadap media dari negara-negara Uni Eropa apabila negara-negara tersebut mencabut pembatasan terhadap media Rusia.

“Uni Eropa telah memperlihatkan bahwa pihak Barat menolak untuk menerima pandangan alternatif dan tidak menoleransi kebebasan berpendapat meskipun tampak memperjuangkannya di depan umum,” kata Ketua Majelis Parleman Negara Bagian Duma Vyacheslav Volodin.

Amerika Serikat juga turut mengungkapkan pandangannya bahwa pemerintah Rusia takut rakyatnya mendengar kebenaran.
